Mr. Donald Joseph Bauer (Don)

Donald Joseph Bauer “Don”, of Waterford passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Franklin. Don was born in Milwaukee on July 14th, 1932, the son of Anthony and Florence Bauer. He spent his early life in Milwaukee, graduating from South Division High School. On May 14, 1955 he married the love of his life, Carol Bauer nee. Kurowski, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. After marriage they lived in the Milwaukee area first in St. Francis, then Milwaukee, and Greenfield and have been residents of Waterford for the past 20 years. Don was the Owner of Bauer’s Garden Center, a family business, for 42 years; he was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, The Garden’s Beautiful group, Wisconsin Landscape Federation, Commercial Flower Growers, and the Wisconsin Florist Association. He enjoyed golfing, boating and model trains, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Don is survived by his wife Carol of Waterford, daughter Kathy (Donald) Weier of Muskego, son Anthony (Maria) of West Allis, and son Michael of Greenfield. He is further survived by his grandchildren Zachariah, Samuel, Luke, Hannah, Amanda, Vick, Jacob, Nicholas, his sister Caroline (Earl) Qualler, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Florence. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI 53185.
