Mr. Eugene F. "Gene" Ball

Ball, Eugene F. “Gene”, age 86, of Rochester, passed away on September 29, 2016 at his home. Gene was born in Racine, Wisconsin on May 29, 1930 to Earl and Gladys (nee. Jones) Ball. He spent his early years in Union Grove and graduated from Union Grove High School in 1948. After serving in the United State Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict, he was united in marriage to Nancy Gehrand on August 5, 1961 in Union Grove. As a resident of the Rochester area for the past 53 years Gene was employed by Pure Milk Association in Kansasville, Roadway Express and Maple Leaf Farms, retiring in 1994. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Gene is survived by his wife Nancy, his three sons: Wayne (Kelly), David (Kim), and Steven as well as his five grandchildren: Tyler (special friend Sammi Lee), Samantha, Abigail, Emily and Hailey.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Earl "Bud", his sister-in-law Nina, his sister Gloria and many dear friends and relatives.

As per Gene’s wishes, there will be no memorial or funeral services. A private internment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church of Rochester and mailed to: P.O. Box 8, Rochester, WI 53167.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Burlington Memorial Hospital, Aurora Hospice Services, Rochester Fire and Rescue and for the many prayers and kindness of many friends and relatives.

Gene will be missed, but there is comfort in knowing he has found his peace with God.
