Frost, Jean Alva, of Janesville, WI passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 following a four year battle with cancer. Jean was born June 2, 1932 in Wind Lake, WI, the daughter of Howard and Mary (nee.Skarie) Hanson. She attended Apple School in Wind Lake, graduated from Rochester Ag School, Union Grove Normal School and later received BA and master’s Degrees from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She married Ralph Edward Frost on June 12, 1954 at the Norway Lutheran Church in Wind Lake. Jean taught school in Norway, WI and Muskego, WI for many years. She was a life-long member of Norway Lutheran Church in Wind Lake and since moving to Janesville, an associate member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Janesville. She was a member of the Martha Clausen Ladies and the Retired Teachers Association. Jean Frost is survived by her husband, Ralph, two sons: Daniel (Lucia) of Andover, MN and Philip (Tammie) of Brodhead, WI, six grandchildren: Jessaca, Jean, Jehred, Joshua, Lindsay, Caleb and Levi, one brother: Bill (Karen) Hanson, one sister: Helen (Robert) Funk, niece’s nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Olene Johnson, two brothers: Donald “Duke” Hanson and Wayne Hanson. Memorial Services will be held Saturday September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Norway Lutheran Church 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, Wisconsin. Visitation with family 9-11 AM Saturday in church. Inurnment in Norway Hill Cemetery following services on Saturday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to Norway Lutheran Church.
