Mr John Maerzke

Maerzke, John C. Age 81 of Waterford passed away at Memorial Hospital of Burlington on Sunday January 13th, 2008. John was born on November 1, 1926 in Milwaukee the son of the late Clarence and Marian (nee. Koeferl) Maerzke. The family lived in St. Martins and than moved to a Waterford area farm. John attended Rochester Ag School. His first job was with Maas implements of Waterford, than he worked at GrafÂ’s Garage as apprentice Mechanic. John worked for Case Corporation of Racine as a First Class Grade A Mechanic and had retired. He also owned his own repair business in the Waterford area working on engines and tractors. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Survived by loving wife of 57 years Lydia, four children: Rick (Loretta) Maerzke, Patty (Tom) Gemoll, Greg (Jean) Maerzke & Dan (Debbie) Maerzke. Grandchildren: Rick (Heidi) Maerzke, Heather (Mark) Martin, Tim (Shaunie) Gemoll, Tony (Erin) Gemoll, John, Sarah, Maddy, Alissa, Ben, Andy & Lydia Maerzke. Great-Grandchildren: Rick, Connor, Sydney, Sofia & Mya. Three Sisters: Mary (Al) Petersen, Rose (Louie) Gauger & Helen Seidelman, one brother: Eugene Maerzke, one sister-in-law: Eileen Maerzke, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Grandson: Jason, Sister-in-law: Doris Maerzke and Brother: Gerald Maerzke. Memorial Gathering Friday January 18th, 2008 9-10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 307 South First Street (Hwy 20) Waterford. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in church.
