Mendez, Julia (nee. Ramon) passed away at her residence in Union Grove on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the age of 79. Julia was born February 16, 1934 in Crystal City, TX to Reynaldo and Rita Ramon. She was married to the love of her life, Francisco “Frank” Mendez on September 25, 1954 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford, WI. Julia worked for 25 yrs at Foster Forbes in Burlington. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Wind Lake, and loved to crochet. Her favorite “hobby” was her family. Julia is survived by her daughters: Estella (Mark) Markisen, Graciela (David) Bierer, Hilda (Keith) Matthes, Patricia (Carl) Patzke, Julia (Kristopher) Mageske, grandchildren: Jacob, Jessica, Haley, Thomas, Rita, Jonathan, Jed, Carla, Danielle, and Emmett. She is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren, sisters: Maria Elida Ramon, Josefina (Alfonso) Chairez, brother: Reynaldo (Bonnie) Ramon, special niece: Maricela Rodriguez and great niece: Christa Rodriguez. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Francisco Mendez, brother: Juan Ramon and twin sisters: Dora Elia and Irma Yolanda Ramon. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 12:00 PM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz Rd., Wind Lake, WI, with a Memorial Gathering from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM in Church. A Committal Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. (Hwy C) in Union Grove, WI.
