Ms. Leona Butcher

Butcher, Leona M. (Phipps), Age 89 of Waterford, finally found her eternal peace on December 29, 2008. She was born in Hydro, Montana on February 18, 1919. She joined a sister, Florence, and two brothers, Herbert and Lester. Leona led a full adventurous life in her eighty- nine years, starting with capturing a wild mustang when she was six. She moved on to being somewhat of a Jill-of-all-trades, ranging from telephone operator, bookkeeper, and assistant librarian at the University of Montana. She loved being around the books. Leona kept daily journals up until her final year. Leona loved challenges and has now moved to her final one. Leona leaves behind a daughter, Carma L. Choido and a son, Gary W. Wright. There are nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and five step-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, former husband and a grandson. (italics) My Spirit rides high a new place IÂ’ll be Free as the wind which was meant for me.
