Mrs. Nancy Jo Ball

March 26, 1937 — May 16, 2017

Ball, Nancy Jo (nee. Gehrand) age 80, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2017 at her Rochester home of 55 years. She was born on March 26, 1937 in Union Grove, WI to Leslie and Sarah Gehrand. In addition to being raised and educated in Union Grove, it was there that she married Eugene Ball on August 5, 1961. Nancy and Gene made their home in Rochester, WI and raised three sons. Her working career was spent at Insinkerator in Racine and Sta-Rite and Foster Forbes in Burlington.
Nancy was well known in the Rochester-Burlington area. As a naturally social person, she had friends everywhere from grocery stores to area restaurants. She was a gifted cook and enjoyed caring for pets and raising her chickens, as well as maintaining her many flowers and bird feeders. She will be fondly remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Nancy is survived by her sons: Wayne (Kelly), David (Kim) and Steve; as well as her grandchildren: Tyler (Sammi Lee), Samantha, Abigail, Emily, and Hailey. She is also survived by her siblings: Shirley Gunderson, Chuck (Charlotte) Gehrand, Mary (Jack) Strouf, David (Dee) Gehrand and Robert (Ellen) Gehrand; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will also be missed by her canine friends: Waylon and Millie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Eugene, who passed away in September 2016.
Nancy requested a private interment service to be held at a later date. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials made to First Congregational Church of Rochester, P.O. Box 8, Rochester, WI 53167 would be appreciated.
Nancy’s family is grateful to all her family and friends that have offered their support in many various ways, from sending flowers, making food, or by just being there. A special Thank You goes to caregivers of Aurora Hospice of Burlington. Your support during Nancy’s, as well as Eugene’s, final days are appreciated more than you will ever know. The service you provide is invaluable.
