Ruth M. Hegeman

Ruth M. Hegeman Age 86 of Burlington Ruth passed away with family by her side at the home of her daughter Beth (Odie) Vrchota on Friday August 17, 2007 at age 86. Ruth was born April 1, 1921 in the Town of Lyons to Louis M. and Myrtle F. (nee. Martin) Schaefer. She spent her early life in the Town of Lyons and in Burlington, and was a resident of Burlington since 1938. She attended St. Mary’s Graded School and graduated St. Mary’s High School in 1938. On May 10, 1947 she married Robert J. Hegeman in St. Mary’s Church of Burlington whom preceded her in death on September 2, 1987. Ruth was a secretary and Bookkeeper at Burlington Wholesale Grocery for many years retiring in 1986. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Burlington where she was a member of ST. Mary’s Ladies Guild, and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Burlington. Survived by two children: Ted (Gale) Hegeman and Beth (Richard “Odie”) Vrchota all of Burlington, also survived by one granddaughter: Elizabeth R. Hegeman of Burlington. Further survived by one sister and 3 brothers: Jeanne Spencer of Tucson, Arizona, Gerald (Kathy) Schaefer of Wauwatosa, James (Verena) Schaefer of Burlington and Paul (Gale) Schaefer of Clinton Corners, New York Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her husband Robert, daughter Barbara Hegeman, and her grandson Erich Schiller preceded Ruth in death. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday August 21, 2007 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington. Visitation in Church Tuesday 9:30-11:30.
