Stalbaum, Ruth M. Age 85 of Waterford, passed away at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington, Friday March 20, 2009. She was born in Burlington on October 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Lehsten. She graduated from St. Charles Graded School and Burlington High School. On November 14, 1942 in Niagara Falls, New York she married Verne L. Stalbaum whom preceded her in death December 1, 2002. The couple lived in Waterford following marriage. Ruth was a proud telephone operator for Ma Bell in Burlington starting in 1945. In 1955 she started working for Southeast Telephone Company of Waterford until her retirement in 1989 as chief operator. Along with her husband Verne, they started Stalbaum Bus Company in 1952. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish of Waterford at the time of her death. Ruth liked to spend winters at their place in Florida and summers in Northern Wisconsin. She mostly enjoyed working with her flowers and spending time with her family. Survived by loving children: Ronald (Diane) of Whichita KS, Todd (Karen) of Waterford and Susan Clark of Waterford. 7- Grandchildren: Dawn (Steve) Young, Kimberly (Michael) Wolak, Timothy Stalbaum, Kevin Clark, Tad (Lisa) Clark, Courtney Clark and Jason Stalbaum. 4-Great-Grandchildren: Kimberly, Kathryn, Grace & Lane. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Preceeded in death by her parents and her husband Verne along with great grandson: Tevin Clark. Mass of the Christian Burial Wednesday March 25th, 2009 11:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 440 Kendall Street, Burlington with Burial to follow in Burlington Cemetery. Visitation is in the Funeral Home Tuesday March 24th, 4-7 PM. Memorials suggested to The Salvation Army or Waterford Public Library.
