Plucker, Bette I. Age 90 of the Town of Rochester Died at Memorial Hospital of Burlington after a short battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Wheaton, Illinois the daughter of the late Peter and Abbie (nee. Kuhn) Knippen. Bette was a graduate of St. Michaels Elementary School and Wheaton area High School and went on to graduate from Gertrude Hale Cosmetology School, and on November 3, 1956 in Wheaton, Illinois she married James “Jim” E. Plucker whom preceded her in death January 2, 2006. The couple lived in the Town of Rochester. Bette was a Beautician until she was 82 years old and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she was also a member of the ladies guild. Survived by two daughters: Sue (Ron) Anton of Rochester, and Kim (Jeff) Petak, Grandchildren: Chris (Amy) Anton, Corey (Valerie) Anton, Julie Petak and David Petak. One great-grandson: Caiden Paul Anton, One sister: Edna Fisher, two brothers: Bob Knippen and Paul Knippen, Sisters-in-Law: Phyllis Garstecki, Martha Winski and Betty Plucker. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, Sisters: Agnes Schmitt, Loretta Hahn and infant sister: Margarite, brothers: Walter, James and Peter Knippen, along with brothers-in-law: William ”Bill” Plucker, John Garstecki and Leonard Winski. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday December 3, 2007 11:00 A.M. at ST. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 307 South First Street, (Hwy 20) Waterford. Visitation in church 9-10:45 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Thomas Church or VNA Hospice of Lake Geneva; 500 Interchange North, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
