Mrs. Jean Rose Mealy

Mealy, Jean Rose, Age 83, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2012 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan, WI. She was born in Milwaukee on December 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Roy P. and Elizabeth M. (nee. Neuman) Maney. Jean attended Washington Caldwell Graded School and was a graduate of Holy Assumption High School in West Allis. She attended Carroll College for two years. On December 30, 1950, she married Harry W. Mealy Jr. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Thomas Church. Jean was the proud owner of Frostios Restaurant in Waterford, located in the former Carr’s Floral building. Jean most recently worked as a receptionist at the St. Francis Retreat Center Gift Shop in Burlington. Jean was an advocate for elementary education, serving on the Waterford School Board. She would help in any way to enhance the future of Waterford area children’s education. She is survived by three children: Kim Mealy of New York City, Kelly (Denise) Mealy of Maryland and Kari (Brian) Annen of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren: Christopher (Stacy) Mealy, Kevin Mealy, Luke Annen and Raechel Annen, Taja and Mykal Mealy. Jean is also survived by one brother: Robert Maney, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother: Jerry. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, Wisconsin, with Reverend Gene Doda Jr. officiating. Visitation in church on Saturday from 10-10:45 AM. Private family inurnment at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for distribution to Jean’s many favorite charities supporting local education.
