Mrs. Jean M Skarie

Skarie, Jean Marie, of Burlington, passed away on August 3, 2015 at the age of 89. Jean was born January 11, 1926 in Burlington Wisconsin to Wenzel and Mary Tauscher. She spent her early life in Burlington, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. In June of 1946 she married the love of her life Harold Skarie. After marriage they lived in Waterford where they raised their family. After Harold passed away in 1992, Jean moved back to Burlington where she has been a resident ever since.
Jean was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, was a volunteer at the hospital auxiliary and Fancy Fingers at Burlington Rehab. In her free time she enjoyed, baking, bowling and playing cards, but most of all spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her children: James Skarie, Judy Ahrens, Jane (Mark) Brossard, John (Diane) Skarie, and Joan (Tim) Lynch. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Fiancé Cecilio Valdivia) Di Giovanni, January (Doug) Rich, Jonathan (Jen) Skarie, Julie (David) O’Brien, Tyler (Jill) Lynch, Trisha Lynch, Tyson Lynch, Matthew (Britta) Brossard, Sarah (Scott) Street and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Joyce (Leroy) Stoehr, sister in law Marge Skarie, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Wenzel and Mary Tauscher, her husband Harold, brother in law Paul Skarie, her brother Wenzel Tauscher and her sister Lucille Yopp-Ripley, other brothers and sisters in law, and son in law John Ahrens.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church – 305 S. First Street. Waterford, WI 53185. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM also at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Burlington, WI on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to be distributed for Breast Cancer research.
