McGowan, John M. Age 81 of Waterford, WI. Formerly Wheaton, Illinois Died at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee WI. September 10, 2007. John was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 30, 1926 the son of Martin and Rose (nee. Sheridan) McGowan, he spent his early life in Chicago before moving to Clayton, New York & Junedale New York and than Pleasantville, New Jersey and than moving back to Chicago John was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Chicago and a graduate of DePaul University, where he proudly to this day supports the Blue Demons . He spent his life working in Management of Sales for the Fencing Industry. John was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford, Wisconsin, and he was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country in the Navy During World War II. John was an avid golfer and enjoyed his “Golf Buddies”. Survived by “Sweet Heart” Joyce Kolze of Waterford, WI. three children: Kevin (Beth) of Jamison PA, Brian of Tucson AZ & Megan McGowan of Dallas Texas. Also survived by the Mother of their children: Shirley McGowan of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren: Cristin (Aaron) Scott, Erin, Sean, and Ryan & Caitlan McGowan along with great grand children: Logan, Brianna & Kiera. His brother Don also survived John. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, and one brother Martin. Mass of Christian Burial Friday September 14th, 2007 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street,(Hwy 20) Waterford, Wisconsin. Visitation in Church 9-10:30. Burial with military honors at South East Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, Wisconsin 53182 - 12:00 Noon on Friday.
