Mrs. Joyce E Hartley

Hartley, Joyce E., age 78, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Friday June 10, 2016 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove. She was born in Flint, MI the daughter of Erwin and Matie (nee. Roe) Greuling. She was a graduate of the Flint area high school and went on to earn an associate degree at Baker Business College. On July 19, 1997 she married Frederick Hartley in Waterford. Joyce was the owner of Grammie’s Deli and worked as an insurance salesperson. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of Gold Wing Chapters GWRRA Chapter F in Racine/Kenosha and Chapter FL1M in Florida. She was a member of Racine-Kenosha Eastern Star and a former member of Eastern Star in West Brand, MI.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Frederick “Fred” Hartley, children: Erwin (Pattie) Ecker, Christian Ecker, Patricia “Patti” (Bill) Gates, Darla (Mike) Burazin and Rick (Patti) Hartley. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends also survive Joyce.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening June 13, 2016 from 5:00-6:45 PM with Eastern Star services beginning at 6:45 followed by the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the family for distribution to all of Joyce’s favorite charities.
Family wishes to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. Haider and the oncology department at Aurora Burlington for their special care of Joyce and to the team of nurses and doctors at Oak Ridge Care Center for their attention to Joyce's comfort.
