Mrs. Lillian Hansen

Hansen, Lillian E. (nee. Remmers) of Waterford, age 76, passed away peacefully in the care of the loving staff at Brolen Park Assisted Living in East Troy, on July 20, 2010. Lillian was born on July 8, 1934, in Tomahawk, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Marie Remmers. She graduated high school in Tomahawk and went on to Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing to obtain her R.N. license. She married Harold J. Hansen on May 3, 1958, at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a registered nurse for 20 years at the Milwaukee County Medical Complex where she was on the kidney transplant team of the late Dr. H. Myron Kauffman. She assisted with the first kidney transplant in Wisconsin. Lillian was a charter member of St. Clare Catholic Church where she was a Eucharist Minister, Lector, prison minister, catechist, confirmation sponsor, youth mission chaperone and a past parish council member. After retirement Lillian earned a degree from Sacred Heart School of Theology and made trips to the Holy Land and Rome. She was a member of VFW Post 10441 Ladies Auxiliary of Tichigan Lake. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold J., of Tichigan Lake, two daughters: Gayam (Tom) Winski of Tichigan and Trisha (Jon) Anderson of Wisconsin Rapids. Grandchildren: Angela (Bob Albee), Nicholas (Rebecca), Jordan and Adam Winski, Jona (Vince) Mancuso and Andrea Anderson. Great-grandchildren: Tristian, Trentn, Tucker and Ryder. One sister: Eleanor (George) Schuetz, one brother: John Remmers, also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ed, sister-in-law Pat Remmers and dear friend Patricia Bennett. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 7:00 PM, at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz St., Wind Lake, WI. A Memorial gathering with family and friends will be prior to Mass on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the Church.
