Mrs. Lillian Longo

Longo, Lillian Age 91 of Waterford passed away peacefully with family at her side on October 19, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington. She was born May 28, 1918 in Racine, Wisconsin the daughter of the late John Henry and Augusta (nee. Becker) Peil. She spent here early life in Racine and was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s Schools in Racine. On January 20, 1945 she married John Longo whom preceded her in death. She lived in Waterford most of her life, where she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was the Ladies Guild President. She was employed as a crossing guard for 27 years at the Waterford Graded Schools. Lillian was a member of the Racine Card Club of which meet once a month for over 50 years. Lillian also worked in Waterford within the Rivermoor Country Club kitchen making the famous Friday Night Fish Fry Potato Pancakes. She was the first lady’s bowler to score a 600 in South East Wisconsin at Malison’s Waterford Bowl. An avid Chicago Cubbies fan and Green Bay Packer Fan. Loved to play Bingo, making sure each time she would get the number “13” in the corner of her card before she would play. Lillian also loved to Dance and play cribbage according to her family. Sadly missed by her children: JoAnn (Robert) Peterson of Kansasville, Dennis (Bernie) Longo of Waterford, LaVerne (Terry) Lewis of Waterford and Mary (Tom) Mott of Waterford. Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Shannon) Dardis, Jennifer Peterson, Kelly (Pete) Gunnell, Tony Peterson, Karman (Nuoc) Roos, Heather (Luke) Iverson, Carol (Matt) Schimke, Nick (Melissa) Longo, Nate Longo, Erica (Kris) Nissela, Michele, Billy, Jolene, Anna and Buddy. Great-Grandchildren: Cody, Olivia, Owen, Jacob, Lydia, Chloe, Chase, Trey,Colton, Melanie, Alyssa and one future great grandchild. Further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband John, Sisters: Gertrude (Tony) Frank, Carol (Phil) Caraher, and Theresa (John) Weyrouch, along with brothers: John, Peter and Garrett Peil. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday October 22, 2009 6:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church, 307 South First Street (Hwy 20) Waterford. With Reverend Gene Doda officiating.
