Mrs. Lois Jane Lewis

Lewis, Lois Jane (nee. Miller), age 90, of Waterford, passed away on May 20, 2012, at Waterford Senior Living. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 16, 1922, the daughter of Roland and Gladys (nee. Oakes) Miller. At age 6 she and her family moved to Waterford. As a Waterford Union High School student she accompanied Robert W. “Bob” Lewis to the prom and they were crowned King and Queen! Lois Jane and Bob were married on March 13, 1943. She had attended Deaconess Nursing School and was employed as a Medical Assistant at the Southern Wisconsin Center for many years. She also worked for a time at Zimmer's Pharmacy on Main St. She was a current member of the Rochester Congregational Church where she once served on the Board of Directors. Lois Jane volunteered with the Burlington Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the “Friends of Waterford Library”, a charter member of the Business and Professional Women of Waterford and a former member of the Waterford Lioness. She also enjoyed spending time with the "Friends of Boerner Gardens" in Whitnall Park. She is survived by three children: Ronald (Jean), Gary (Mary Jo) and Scott (Diane) Lewis, grandchildren: Jeffrey (Prentice) Lewis , Kristi Lewis, Kirsten (John Hagenow) Lewis, Stacey (Karl) Norland, Robert C. (Jade) Lewis, Kody (Fiance’ Lauren) Lewis, Tylor Lewis and Kailey Lewis, great-grandchildren: Colin, Sadie, Haylen, Landry and Avery, nephew: Jeff (Jan) Beardsley, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Bob Lewis. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 24, 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30PM in the Funeral Home. Services on Friday, May 25th, 10:30 AM at Rochester Congregational Church, 103 South State Street, Rochester, WI. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery will follow services on Friday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, her family suggests memorials to either: Rochester Congregational Church or Waterford Public Library.
