Barnhill, Martin Lewis. Jr, age 79 from Union Grove died peacefully at his residence on October 21, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Fayetteville, AR on July 22, 1930, the son of the late Martin Sr. and Ruth (nee. Norwood) Barnhill. On May 20, 1950 in Racine, WI he married Vondelle Rae Arvid. Martin was a mason who retired from BDI in Brookfield, WI in 1994. He enjoyed nature, God’s handiwork and truly adored and loved his family. Survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Vondelle; children: Martin III of East Troy; Kristie of Granby, MO; Jeff (Aida) of Lake Stevens, WA; Kirby Sr. (Joyce) of Potlatch, ID; Kim (David) Nelson of Darien; Jim (Lisa) of Sultan, WA and Nancy Biker of New Berlin. Grandchildren: Arlene (Brian) Rehm, Lynn, Kirby Jr. (Dee), Denica (Al) Kiser, Curtis, Autumn, Lane, Caleb and Nathan, Alex (Cody) McCue and Samantha Blaeske. Great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jaxson Kiser. Sister: Jeanette (Paul) Allen of OR; Brother-in-law: Lee (Joanne) Arvid of FL and Sister-in-law: Ruthann (Joe) Vassh of Burlington. Preceded in death by his parents, brother William, sister Patsy and his father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Eleanor Arvid. Visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, October 29 at Mealy Funeral Home – 225 West Main Street (Hwy 20) Waterford, with services at 7:00 PM. Burial to take place on Friday, October 30, 11:00 AM at English Settlement Cemetery, Burlington (Hwys A & J). In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family for the funds to be distributed amongst Martin’s favorite charities.
