Grebe, Melvin A. Age 88 of Tichigan Passed away Sunday October 8th at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Melvin was born in Milwaukee July 26, 1918; he was the son of Gerhard & Emma (nee. Hueler) Grebe. He spent his early life in Cudahy and later in Muskego/Tichigan area and was a graduate of Waterford Union High School in 1937. Melvin proudly served his country in the Army during WWII, Melvin was also a retired from the military as a Lt Colonel, and served in the 5063rd reserve unit after retirement. Melvin was a proud member of the community of Tichigan. Owner and Operator of the Tichigan Tower gas station and his own excavating & trucking business for many years. He was a supervisor for the Town of Waterford for 10 years, a member of the Tichigan Lake Lions Club, and member of the American Legion Post 20 of Waterford, Member of St. Peter’s Lutheran church of Waterford where he was the President of the cemetery association for many years. Melvin Married Dorothy L. Schmidt in St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorothy preceded him in death September 11, 1984. Melvin is survived by two children, one daughter: Martha (Gerald) Stollenwerk of Allenton, WI and one Son Mark (Dona) Grebe of Waterford, further survived by five grandchildren: Tom Stollenwerk, Sandra (Jeff) Gildmeister, Daniel (Lisa) Stollenwerk, Theodore (Samantha) Grebe & Jennifer (John) Buetow, also survived by Nine Great-Grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, His wife Dorothy, a sister Henrietta(Benjamin) Lustig, Brothers Gilbert Hueler, Lester(Florence) Hueler & Maynard(Lillian) Hueler. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South 6th Street, Waterford on Saturday October 14th at 11:30 A.M. Visitation in CHURCH on Saturday 9:30-11:15 A.M. Burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery with full military honors will follow services in church. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to the family.
