Nell Marie Johnson

Johnson, Nell Marie age 81 of Town of Norway passed away at Mount Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington June 7, 2010. Nell Marie Narum was born on her family’s homesteaded farm in the Town of Norway on August 8, 1928 the daughter of the late Nels and Margrite (nee. Opstad) Narum. She attended Colonel Heg Graded School and graduate Waterford Union High School Class of 1946. On April 15, 1950 at Norway Lutheran Church on the Hill she married Lloyd R. Johnson, the couple recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Nell Marie was a homemaker and a farmer living on her family’s homesteaded farm for most of her life. She worked as a telephone operator for the Wind Lake Phone Company recently known as Southeast Telephone. Nell Marie was a proud member of Norway Lutheran Church where she helped with the Altar Guild and in her younger days loved to sing in the choir and serve the infamous Lutefisk Dinners at her church. Survived by her husband of 60 years Lloyd, Two sons: Eugene (Julie) Johnson, and Carl (Sherrie) Johnson, along with two grandchildren: Emily Johnson and Jacob (Kimberly) Johnson Also survived by one Great Grandson: Ryan. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, sister: Julia Christianson and Brother: Otto Jorgenson. Services Saturday June 12th, 2010 at 10:30 AM within Norway Lutheran Church. Visitation is in church Saturday 9-10:30. Burial in the church cemetery following services.
