Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Pietras, age 88, of Waterford, WI, died on September 22, 2020 due to a tragic car accident. Pat was born in Toledo, OH, the daughter of the late Leon and Pauline (nee: Hulisz) Pietras, and she was the oldest of their six children. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education, focusing on Home Economics, at Bowling Green State University. She taught high school education in Toledo, OH and continued to teach adult education for many years. Pat married George Kaase in July 1957, and they had three children: Kimberly, Keith and Kent. After George Kaase passed away, she married George Jenkins who preceded her in death on November 29, 2016.

Growing up and living many years in the Toledo area, Pat had very diverse interests including coaching the synchronized swim team at Inverness Club, acting as a docent at the Toledo Art Museum, and, later in life, becoming an avid runner and member of the Toledo Roadrunners, completing many marathons and ultramarathons. As a Girl Scout, she achieved the highest rank of Gold Bar in the 1940’s.

Pat lived in Waterford, Wisconsin near Tichigan Lake during her last 14 years. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Waterford. She had a special passion for gardening also serving as a Master Gardener volunteer, and for ballroom dancing at the Fred Astaire studio in Greenfield, WI. She enjoyed the arts, theater, sewing, parchment craft, card-making and calligraphy, among many other creative interests. “Busha Pat” had a special place in her heart for her dear grandchildren, spending countless happy times with them and their many friends at the lake house filled with fun activities, interesting conversations, cherished moments, and many crazy antics! Always an outgoing and memorable person at any gathering, she will be missed by all.

Pat is survived by two of her children: Kimberly (Paul) Bors of Lake Forest, Illinois, and Keith Kaase of Houston, Texas; one daughter-in-law: Carmen Watrin (widow of Kent Kaase), her grandchildren: Richard Bors, Robert (Kelsy McNay) Bors, Kathryn (fiancé Bryce Ackerman) Bors, Jacqueline Kaase, and Maximillian “Max” Kaase. She is additionally survived by three of her brothers and her sister: Leonard Pietras, John “Jack” Pietras (Sue), Phillip Pietras (Nancy) and Monica Growden, as well as her goddaughter, Angie Growden, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, son Kent Kaase, first husband George Kaase, second husband George Jenkins and brother Daniel Pietras.

Memorial gathering will be held on Sunday September 26, 2021 at Patricia's home in her flower garden from 11am-1 PM with pray services beginning at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to a nature, cultural, or health-related organization of your choice.
