Pearl Bruce

Bruce, Pearl J. (nee. Lekfield), Age 93, of Lake Denoon, passed into eternal life on August 20, 2011. Pearl was born in the Town of Muskego on July 27, 1918, daughter of the late Arnold and Lauretta (nee. Pellman) Lekfield. She was baptized by Pastor Genser in September of 1918 and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church on July 3, 1932 by Pastor Jahres. Since 1920 she has lived in the Lake Denoon area, attended Sunday School at Norway Lutheran Church and public school at Lake Denoon. She graduated from Waterford Union High School in 1936. Pearl married Clarence Bruce on November 23, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1988. Pearl was very active in her church and community. She was a lifetime member of Norway Lutheran Church; she was active and held offices in Altar Guild, Sunday school, Board of Property, and other committees. She trained Acolytes and set up schedules with Doris Colins and the late Bush Miller. For many years Pearl made a birthday cake for Baby Jesus for the 3, 4, and 5 year olds Sunday School Classes. She was an active member and secretary of the Lake Denoon Advancement Association. Pearl was also involved in the Waukesha County 4-H program and served on several county 4-H committees. She was a county key leader in rabbit project and was club leader for over 35 years in the Washington 4-H club, also serving on the club Executive Board. Survived by two sons: Norman (Eve) and Laurence (Fay), daughter-in-law: Karen; eight grandchildren: Lisa (Chris) Licht, Laurie Burns, Stephanie, Barbara, Carrie (Chad) Seybt, Kevin (Sarah), Mark (Melissa) and Peter (Emily Butke), seven great-grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Donovan, Claudia, Julia, Hannah and Ava; one great-great-granddaughter: RayAnn. Also survived by other family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband: Clarence and son: Raymond. Services will be Wednesday, August 24th at 2:00 PM at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind lake, Wisconsin. Visitation in church Wednesday from 12-1:45 PM. Burial following services in the church cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to Norway Lutheran Church, Waukesha County 4-H or South East Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association.
