Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Beck

Beck, Robert J., “Bob”, Age 93, of Waterford, passed away on August 6, 2012. He was born in Waterford, WI on May 22, 1919, the son of the late Antone and Laura (nee. Falk) Beck. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was a lifetime member (65 years) of the American Legion Post 20 of Waterford. On February 12, 1944, he married Bernice M. Eckert in Burlington. He was a butcher and the proud owner of Beck’s Food Market for 22 years. He also worked for Dick’s Market in Waterford. Bob was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife: Bernice, four children: Michael of Waterford, Gregory (Sandy) of Rochester, Robert (Pam) of Waterford and James of Milwaukee, grandchildren: Anthony, Alexi, Kristine, Dylan, Andrew (Kandiss), and one great-grandchild: Hadlee. He is also survived by a brother: Paul (Mary) of Milwaukee, sister-in-law: Rosella Ecker, brother-in-law: Sam Eckert, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lucille (William) Paulik, and brother: Richard (Tony) Beck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford. Visitation in Church on Saturday from 9-10:45. Burial in the church cemetery following mass. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Church.
