Mrs. Sharon Stanger Gauger

November 15, 1964 — January 2, 2022

Gauger, Sharon Stanger, age 57, died on Sunday, Jan. 02, 2022, after her battle with frontotemporal dementia. Born on Nov. 15, 1964, she was the fourth child of Richard and Shirley (McKillop) Stanger and the only daughter among three brothers. Shari graduated from Waterford Union High School in 1983. She worked as an executive assistant at Lynch Truck Center until she left to become a full-time caretaker for her mother, who Shari lovingly cared for in her final years.

The love story started when Rob lost a bet that led to him meeting the love of his life Shari. He wore pink suspenders and his dorkiness won her over. Her devotion and love carried them through to a stoplight proposal from Rob and they were married on Nov. 10, 1990 surrounded by loving family and friends. Together they had two children, Kalee Mae and Bryce Robert. She filled the house with love, friends, and delicious baked desserts. She was the type of woman who didn't need much to look beautiful. Her beauty was classic. She enjoyed hosting get-togethers where friends and family would gather and laugh and relax together. When she wasn't hosting or baking she could be found blasting music and dancing around the kitchen smiling while feeling the music flow through her body. She enjoyed reading while sipping her coffee in her robe on her chair in the living room. Her skill at baking was unmatched and grew into a real passion during her later years. She loved creating new flavor combinations and loved having Rob and her family as test testers. Her grandchildren were the light of her life before the disease took hold; she loved spoiling her granddaughter Aurelia and spending time playing and tickling her. She passed down many traditions: Pumpkin carving, Christmas cookie baking and Easter egg hunts delighting in the pure joy she brought to her granddaughter. When baby Zaeyla was born anytime she would see her a smile would instantly spread across her face. Rob and Shari made many memories together with their family and friends. Her love and loyalty is the kind of rare gem that is only seen in a few people. The love that Shari gave to so many will live on eternally in our hearts forever. She is resting now peacefully and painlessly with her Mom and Dad.

Shari is survived by her husband of 31 years, Rob Gauger; her daughter, Kalee ( Loic Tremblay); son Bryce; granddaughters Aurelia and Zaelya; brothers Rick (Lesli), Scott, and Mark; parents-in-law Frank and Mary Jean Gauger; siblings-in-law Lesly Gauger, Paige (Brian) Beck and Peter (Becky) Gauger; nephews Matthew, Dalton, Jeb and Fred; nieces Amy, Kate, Corine, Molly and Libby; special cousin, Stacey Sibilski; and numerous other family members and friends.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley, as well as aunts, uncles and grandparents.
