Mrs. Virginia "Jean" Luerssen

Luerssen, Virginia “Jean” 97 of Waterford. Virginia “Jean” Luerssen, age 97 years young. She was born to John and Martha Domek on March 5, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois. On March 2, 1935, she married James T. Luerssen in Chicago. She was a member of New Beginnings Christian Church in Waterford. They moved from Palatine Illinois to Waterford on February 23, 1951. She retired from Southern Colony in Union Grove as a Cook. Jean helped with the farm work, was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She made mittens and caps for needy children for many years. She also enjoyed gardening and playing the piano and organ. Surviving Jean are one son: Steve of Waterford and one daughter: Marjorie (Noel) Whiting of Racine, one daughter-in-law: Jean Luerssen of Waterford, three grandsons: Joseph (Tina) Whiting of Racine, Daniel Whiting of Racine and Chad (Holly) Luerssen from Antigo, WI, two granddaughters: Joan (Mark) Parsons and Ashley Kohler, seven great-grandchildren: Rory (Molly) Parsons, Brae(Trygve) Kittleson, Celina (Matt) Honzelka, Landyn Kohler, Zachary, Abbey and Nicholas Luerssen, seven great-great grandchildren: Kaysi, Noah, Corbin, Tyler, Tanner, McKayla and Madison. Jean is further survived by other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by her husband, parents, son: John, daughter: Joan, grandson: John “Jimmy”, daughter-in-law: Kathy Luerssen, sister: Evelyn, brothers: Jack and Daniel Domek, and sister-in-law: Jane (Domek) Duenn. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 11 am-12:45 PM in the Funeral Home. Services at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Cantrell officiating.
