Barbara Howard

Barbara Jean "Barbie" Howard passed away on July 9th, 2026, at the age of 55.

Born on July 29th, 1970, in Burlington, Wisconsin, Barbara graduated from Burlington High School with the Class of 1988. She worked as a Deli manager at Sentry and made her home in Lake Geneva, as well as both Burlington and Elkhorn.

On December 6th, 1997, Barbara married her loving husband, Tom. Known for her beautiful smile and warm presence, she could light up any room. She will be lovingly remembered for her big "Barbie hugs" and the joy she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Howard, her siblings, Judy Schweitzer, Mark (Katie) Henningfeld, Karen (Rick) Johnson, and Cyndi (Mark) Nesson. A proud Aunt to Cheyenne Schweitzer, Shelby and Caleb Wagner, Kellyn and Mallory Henningfeld, and Aubree and Savanna Nesson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Maryann Henningfeld, her sister Catherine Wagner, her nephew Lane Schweitzer, grandparents Donald and Mildred Papineau, and Robert and Agnes Henningfeld. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and other extended family and friends who will carry her memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara’s honor are appreciated to Burlington Back-40 4-H or Racine Co. Ag Society.

Memorial visitation will be held 10AM-11:45AM Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY (305 S. 1st Street Waterford, WI 53185), with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12PM.
