Carol A. Webster

July 19, 1937 — September 5, 2023

On September 5th, 2023, Heaven welcomed our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Carol Anne Webster (nee Gudmanson) with open arms, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Carol was born on July 19, 1937, to Victor Byron Gudmanson and Betsy Beletha Gudmanson (nee Arneson) in Cadott, Wisconsin. After Carol graduated from Cadott High School in 1955, she was employed in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Carol was introduced to Thomas (Tom) Webster through her brother, Donald Gudmanson, at her home in Cadott. Carol and Tom were married on November 1st, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott and are the parents of three children, Thomas Mark (Faith), Kristina Kay (George Shields), and Eric Daniel (Amy Johnson).
Prior to retiring in 1995, Carol and Tom lived the majority of their lives in Clinton, Wisconsin, where Carol was employed as the village librarian and Tom taught within the Clinton School District . Later, Carol obtained an Associates Degree in Marketing from Black Hawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin, and spent her remaining work years as a member of the Rock County Library System team in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was an active member of Pella Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and supervising the church’s youth group. Carol was also a member of the Good Time Players, enjoying an active role in community theater. Carol and Tom were involved in other community activities such as volleyball and bowling, building close friendships with Jack and Marl Reeder and Jim and Nell Gilbank. She was an involved wife and mother with her family and will always be remembered by friends and family for her kindness, loving support, strength, humor, and strong faith in God.
Carol and Tom spent retirement at their home on Long Lake, New Auburn, Wisconsin, embracing life on the water while often in the company of family and friends. Close friends Jim and Nell Gilbank and Ann Crawley often made the journey from Clinton, WI, to spend time with Carol and Tom in the fall. For over a decade during the winter months, Carol and Tom enjoyed life in Lake Havasu, AZ, building close relationships and being active members of the community.
Carol was predeceased in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archie and Lillian Webster, her siblings, Robert, Bruce, Glenn, Joyce (Kramer), Gordon, and Gary, her brother-in-law Bruce Kramer, her sisters-in-law, Ellen Gudmanson, Betty Jane Gudmanson, and Lorraine Anderson, and her nephews, John Kramer, Jim Anderson, and Roger Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Tom, her three children, and her cherished grandchildren, Bethany Parmentier (Gero), Evan Webster (Lyndsey), and Kathryn Shields (Alan Imren). In addition, Carol lovingly welcomed three great grandchildren, Finley Shields Imren, Linus Parmentier, and Claire Webster. She is survived by her dear brother, Donald Gudmanson, her sister-in-law, Alice Gudmanson, and her brother-in-law, Robert Anderson. Carol is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and was a loving aunt to each one. Lastly, she is also survived by her beloved dog, Mandy, whom they rescued in 2012, and who filled her heart with joy.
