Charles R. Witty

Charles R. Witty, age 79, of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Charles was born on September 19, 1946, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the son of the late Davis C. and Della M. (Phillips) Witty. He graduated from Muskego High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army after enlisting in 1966. Charles was a Vietnam War veteran, serving with the 25th Infantry Division, 3/4 Cavalry, and was honorably discharged on March 14, 1969.

Growing up, Charles had a deep love for sports and remained an avid fan throughout his life. In his later years, you could always find him with the TV on, cheering on his favorite Wisconsin teams—the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers.

Charles is survived by his loving daughter, Lindsey (fiancé Dave York) Witty; his cherished grandsons, Maverick and Austin York; and his brother, Fred Witty. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Corey Witty; his parents; his brothers, Davis and Walter Witty; as well as his fellow battle buddies.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 25,2026 at the Norway Cemetery (6235 Heg Park Rd, Waterford, WI 53185) at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will follow at Spanky’s Bar and Grill (403 S 6th St, Waterford, WI 53185).

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charles’ name may be made to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight of Wisconsin.
