Mr. Dane Earl Baake

December 17, 1990 — July 12, 2016

Dane was born on December 17, 1990 and left his earthly body at 20:23 on July 12, 2016 due to an accidental drug overdose. Dane passed away surrounded by love, music and prayer. He passed very quickly which showed how ready he was to be released and surround everyone in spirit. While Dane had in the past struggled with substances, he had been clean for several years and this circumstance was a mistake and an accident. This resulted in injuries that are not survivable. The family wants to be honest with everyone on what happened so the weight of these circumstances show how quickly life can be lost in a moment.

Dane's soul shined so bright and loved so gently. He was curious about life, yet wise and patient beyond his years. He was genuine, adventurous and had a passion for the outdoors. In his last few months, he was able to travel the western states on a long camping road trip, make several trips to see family, and catch up with old friends. He was living in Vail with his fiancé and soulmate Lisa LaRue, enjoyed a growing career as a cook, snowboarded as much as possible and took advantage of the amazing outdoors that surrounded him. Anyone who met Dane knows he gave the best hugs you will ever have. His spirit was infectious and he left a trail of admirers wherever he went.

Dane is survived by his loving parents Ron (Wendy) Baake, Dawn (Bob) Manke and sister Kayla (Cade) Arndt, in addition to many other family members and friends who will miss him forever. In remembrance of Dane, the family requests that you plant a tree, flowers or other plant in his honor. Dane always felt his spirit lives on in the trees and earth
