David Joseph Koezly

March 28, 1969 — June 21, 2025

Koezly, David JosephDavid “Dave” Koezly of Rochester, WI passed away on June 21, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Dave was born on March 28th, 1969 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Edwin and Susan Koezly, Jr. David was baptized at St. Alphonsus in Greendale, WI, received his First Confession and First Holy Communion at St. Thomas Aquinas in Waterford, WI and his Confirmation at St. Joseph’s in Rosemount, MN. Dave grew up in Rochester was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas parish his entire life and a Knights of Columbus member for over 25 years.

Dave is survived by his brothers Ed (Monica), Bob (Kayls), Tom (Cheri) and sister Jane (Todd) Fabozzi and many nephews and nieces: Jennifer (Ben), Clare (Luis), Joe, Bridget (Alex), Sam, Meghan, Becca (Miles), Lauren, Amarion, Trent, Sarah, Josh, Brian, Barclay, Beckett, Emma and Eddie. Dave enjoyed family get togethers as we played cards, darts and lawn games. He was a gentle giant with his nephews and nieces and they adored him. The big treat for them was whose house he’d stay at during his visits. Dave, you are terribly missed!

Dave also has great friends he enjoyed life with. Good (real) friends are hard to find and he had good friends. They took vacations together and enjoyed getting together. When Dave became sick they visited and kept in touch with him and took care of his house. Thank you.

Dave always loved working with the KCs on Fish Fries and the Tootsie Roll Drives. He was dedicated to the KCs and would often delay coming for family get togethers because these were important to him. It wasn’t just getting together, but also the causes they served.

Dave worked at Avidity Science in Waterford, WI for 35 years in the welding and fabrication departments. He had attention to detail and enjoyed problem solving. Dave savored the challenges of the special requests that allowed him to hone his craft. He enjoyed his co-workers and was very appreciative of the support they sent while he was dealing with cancer. He was really hoping to be working with them again. Good company. Good people. Dave’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas parish and internment will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
