Kransel, Donald R. “Mike” passed away due to complications of Lou Gehrig’s disease at Boland Hall Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove at age 78 on Thursday October 14, 2010. Born in Chicago August 17, 1932 the son of the late William and Harriet (nee. Hagen) Kransel.He spent his early life in Chicago, and in 1951 he joined the United States Marine Corps. , Where he proudly served his country for three years during the Korean War. Moving to Waterford in 1949 and in 1955 he married Aileen J. Heilala. The couple lived in Waterford and Rochester area. Mike was a retired Electrician for Rewald Electric of Burlington. He was a member of Rivermoor Country Club and an avid golfer. Mike was a charter member of the Waterford Lions Club, and was also a member of the American Legion Post 20 of Waterford. Survived by his former wife Aileen of Elkhorn, Five children: Scott, Steve (Kristi), Timothy, Michael (Deanna) and Kris (Jill). Grandchildren: Sarah, Angie, Savannah, Levi, Dane, Michaela, Klarissa and Kenton. Also survived by one brother Guy Scott (Linda) Hickey other relatives and friends. Services will be held Wednesday October 20th at 2:00 PM in the funeral home with Reverend Lawrence Williams officiating. Visitation with Family 12 –1:45 Wednesday. Burial following services in Oakwood Cemetery of Waterford. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The ALS Association: 1275 K St. NW Suite. 1050, Washington , DC 20005.
