Floyd began his career as a dedicated tool and die maker after earning his associate's degree from MATC. He worked at Harley Davidson, Allis Chalmers, Zierden Co., and Allen Bradley-Rockwell until he retired. Floyd was blessed with Lisa Marie from his first marriage and one day he met Barb. They were married on August 7, 1981 -they are together as their 45th wedding anniversary approaches. The blended family came with the usual challenges and joy. They took many trips -mostly camping and fishing. They all loved being in the outdoors. Floyd loved music- Pink Floyd being one of his favorites, along with many concerts, plays, dinners, sporting events, and Whitewater football games—a bond created and treasured between the Nuernberg boys.

He was always on the go. The Parkinson’s slowed him down but still able to follow his favorite teams on the television. Barb and Floyd ate at the table all the time and watched out the patio door all the different wildlife that visited. He made it outside often with his walker and then the wheelchair taking in the fresh air and visiting with the neighbors. Fishing was a passion he shared many great stories over the years, Old People’s lunch a chance for everyone to talk and be served a meal, Hallmark stock has gone down but Floyd definitely shopped there to brighten the holidays and daily life. He was limited and learned to enjoy socializing, cards, board games, movies, listening to music participating in all the activities at the assisted living. He read the bible daily and meditated. He was devastated by the loss of Barb and dealing with his own failing health. He tried to make the best of everyday and find something to make him smile until they were reunited. Floyd did all that he wanted and kept it in order until the end.

He will be deeply missed by many but never forgotten. A special thanks to the Elizabeth Residence Franklin South, the staff and residents have a special place in our hearts for making Floyd’s life the most it could be, along with Badger Hospice the entire staff was always there, especially Candace, Liz and Chaplain Eugene. We were blessed.
