Garry Robert Schroeder “Jerry Garcia”

Of Greenfield, Wisconsin, passed away at home on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the age of 73.

Garry was born on May 9, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of the late Richard W. and Audrey A. (Laack) Schroeder. He graduated from Whitnall High School with the Class of 1971 and married the love of his life, Terri Byrnes, on August 15, 1981, in West Allis, Wisconsin.

A lifelong resident of Greenfield, Garry dedicated many years of service to the Canadian Pacific Railroad before retiring in 2006. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, hearty laugh, and gift for storytelling. Whether sharing memories, jokes, or life lessons, Garry had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued.

Garry is lovingly survived by his wife, Terri; his children, Darnelle (Jason) Richards, Brad Schroeder, Shannan (Josh) Teuteberg, and Jessica Schroeder; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his beloved pet companions, Hazel and Evelyn; his sister, Sandra Larscheidt; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randy (Susan) Schroeder.

A Celebration of Garry’s Life will be held at Gas-Lite West, 4305 S. 84th Street, Greenfield, WI 53228, on August 1, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come share stories and memories of Garry as we celebrate a life well lived and keep his memory alive.
