Gerald "Jerry" E. Alaxson

Gerald E. “Jerry” Alaxson, 81, of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Simpson Meadows. He was the husband of the late Patricia Alaxson, who passed away in 1998.

Born in Burlington, WI on April 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Chester and Rachel (Krogstad) Alaxson. Jerry graduated from Waterford High School in Wisconsin. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, stationed in Guam. Jerry and his family eventually settled in Chester County, where he worked for Mobil Oil for over 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, and not one to sit still too long, was always busy doing something around the house. No one was a stranger to Jerry. He always had a happy demeanor, and he loved engaging with the people around him and in his community. Whether that be when he was taking a walk on struble trail, or stopping at Wawa for a cup of coffee. Being a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Downingtown, his faith was very important to him. He often volunteered his help around the church with different projects, and visited church members who were not able to come to services in person. Most of all, Jerry loved his family and friends, and had a special relationship with his granddaughter.

Surviving is his son Craig Alaxson, husband of Megan, of Parkesburg; granddaughter Piper; and Aunt Alphield Krogstad. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Alaxson.

Memorial service will be held 10AM Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at NORWAY LUTHERAN CHURCH (6321 Heg Park Rd. Wind Lake, WI 53185). Inurnment to follow the service at Norway Hill Cemetery Wind Lake, WI.
