Capt. Jeremy Richard Maurer, 34 years old of Oak Creek, WI passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He was born July 30, 1991 to Paul and Susan (Burkhardt) Maurer. Jeremy attended St. Matthew Grade School and Oak Creek High School before achieving an Associates at the Community College of the Air Force in 2015, Bachelors in 2016, and his Masters in 2017 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Jeremy was one of the finest airmen and Air Battle Managers in the 128th Air Control Squadron who achieved numerous accomplishments while on his assignment. He was very active in his Veterans of Foreign Wars community, along with his battle buddy, Senior Master Sergeant Reid Scott. Jeremy was recently tasked with the Project Officer duties for a major combat training exercise and executed his duties with precision and excellence, ensuring the success of the mission. Jeremy was also employed at Sabel Systems Technology Solutions, LLC and enjoyed his time there. He brightened every room with his contagious smile, laugh, and energy. Jeremy was a wonderful friend to many with a deep love for his family. He was an avid jeopardy enthusiast with a love for pickleball, golf, soccer, and video games. Jeremy enjoyed many trips with his significant other, Rachel, being a puppy uncle to Murphy and Jax, and spent many summer days at the Maurer cabin with family and friends.
A special thank you to the United States Air Force and family and friends that have guided us through this difficult time.
Survivors include, his mother, Susan Maurer; brothers, Adam and Luke Maurer; grandfather, Richard Burkhardt; beloved girlfriend, Rachel Papp; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends and coworkers. Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Paul Maurer; paternal grandparents, Charles and Cecilia Maurer; and maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Burkhardt.
Visitation will be held from 3:00PM until Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00PM Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI 53185 with Military Honors immediately following the Mass. Friends and family are also invited to a gathering at the Cotton Exchange 395 Hickory Hollow Rd. Waterford, WI 53185.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Milwaukee VA Domiciliary – located within the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
Donations can be made by check, payable to Zablocki VA Medical Center earmarked: DOM123, or through the donation portal below in memory of Captain Jeremy R. Maurer, United States Air Force.
