Joseph J. Pohlhammer

January 6, 1929 — April 4, 2026

  • Joseph John Pohlhammer, 97, of East Troy, WI, passed away peacefully at home
  • surrounded by his family on April 4, 2026.

  • Joe was born on January 6, 1929, in Milwaukee, WI, to Joseph and Frieda (Paukner)
  • Pohlhammer. On November 1, 1952, he married the love of his life, Irma Lamberg, in
  • Milwaukee. Together they built a beautiful life and raised five children, remaining
  • devoted to one another until her passing in 2005.

  • A true enthusiast of anything with wheels, Joe was especially passionate about
  • motorcycles and continued to ride well into his nineties, embodying a spirit of freedom
  • and adventure that never faded. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and
  • great-grandfather. His children cherished many camping trips, fishing, and go-karting
  • with their dad. His grandchildren carry fond memories of overnight visits and waking up
  • to "Grandpa’s famous Swedish pancakes." Joe had an infectious laugh that could light
  • up a room; he cherished his family above all else and always showed up for them. His
  • presence, along with that of his beloved dog, Sara, will be deeply missed by many.

  • Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irma (d. 2005); his daughter, Diane; his
  • granddaughter, Christina; his parents; and his sister, Mary.

  • He is survived by his four sons: Joe, Jeff (Sue), Gary (Colleen), and Dan (Connie). He is
  • the proud grandfather of Jason, Nathan, Melissa, Jessica, LaDina, Brian, Crystal,
  • Jennifer, Cassie, Olivia, Tiffany, Cody, and Cayla. His legacy further lives on through 35
  • great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

  • A graveside service will be held on April 20th at 2:00 pm at McPherson Cemetery,
  • 7033 County Rd K, Franksville, WI.
  • Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Big Bend Lions
  • Club building at the Floyd E. Swayze Memorial Center, W231S9205 Riverside St., Big
