Avila, Juan M. “Johnny” age 69, of Green Bay, formerly of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, passed away at Aurora Medical Bay Center in Green Bay on Sunday March 19, 2023. Johnny was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, on March 17, 1954, the son of the late Antonio and Guadalupe (nee. Guardiola) Avila. At an early age he and his family moved to Wind Lake, Wisconsin, where he spent most of his life. Johnny was a cooking assistant at many restaurants in the area. He loved to shoot pool, go fishing, and listen to his may Beatles albums.
Survived by his siblings, Marcos A. Avila, Luis (Diane) Avila, Guadalupe (Rolando) Gamez, Juan ”Antonio” Avila, Esteban (Dawn) Avila, Reymundo Avila, Isabel (Fred) Bublitz, and Leticia (Greg) Withrow. Johnny is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jane Simonsen, sister-in-law: Jonni Avila; nieces Jamie, and Anna Maria.
Visitation on Monday March 27, 2023, from 10-10:45 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz Street, Wind Lake, Wisconsin 53185. Mass of Christian burial to begin at 11:00 AM. Burial in Rochester Cemetery following mass.
