Kathleen L Schmidt

Kathleen “Kathy” Schmidt, 71 years old of Waterford, WI passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. Kathy was born November 25, 1953 to the late Gordon and Marilee (Picard) Taylor in Racine, WI. She spent much of her early childhood in Milwaukee before her family moved to Waterford in the late 1960’s. Kathy graduated from Waterford Union High School in 1972 and on November 10, 1973, she married Ken Schmidt at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Waterford. Together, Kathy and Ken were proud members of the church. Kathy was a homemaker and held various part time jobs at local fast food restaurants - some of her favorite jobs were working in the deli at Pick ‘N Save and former Burlington Sentry. In her free time, she could be found getting lost in a good book and embroidering items for loved ones. Above all things, Kathy adored time spent with family.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Ken; three children, Jeremy (Emily), Jonathan (Anna), and Timothy (Holly); eight grandchildren, James, Paige, Reagan, Wyatt, Alexander, Bryan, Leyna, and Keaton; brothers, Gordon and Terry (Sharon); and sister, Michelle (Charles) Stowell. Along with her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her step-father, Edwin Chaseo; and brothers, Michael and Kerry.

The Schmidt Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Aurora At Home Hospice Program, especially Janay, Elizabeth, and Renee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Faith Community 305 South 1st St. Waterford, WI 53185 with visitation beginning at 9:00AM. Interment to immediately follow in St. Thomas Cemetery Waterford, WI. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to MEALY-STENCEL FUNERAL HOME 225 W. Main St. Waterford, WI 53185.
