Mrs. Mildred M. Johnson

Johnson, Mildred M., Age 91, of the Town of Norway, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Mildred was born on the Jacobs farm in the Town of Dover on August 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (nee. Smetana) Jacobs. She was a proud graduate of the Rochester Ag School in 1939. On May 18, 1946 she married Norman O. Johnson at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Dover parsonage. Norman passed away on January 22, 2012. The couple moved to the Johnson Family Farm in the Town of Norway in 1950. Mildred worked at various jobs within Racine and Milwaukee counties and retired with 12 years of service from American Roller in Union Grove. She was a 4-H leader for the Norway 4-H and for Racine County for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She loved baking, decorating cakes and staying in contact with her classmates, relatives and friends. Most of all, Mildred enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by four children: Jane Johnson of Greenfield, Dave Johnson of Milwaukee, Sally (Bob) Hagemann of Burlington and Julie Johnson of Waterford, six grandchildren: Abigail, Megan, Katie and Kevin Hagemann, Callia and Laina Johnson, two great-grandchildren: Jayce Nelson and Caden Johnson, one sister: Patricia (Marvin) Jacobson, one sister-in-law: Dorothy Jacobs, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Norman, and brother: Ken. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford. Visitation will be held in the FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, February 20, from 4-8 PM. A short visitation will also be held in the Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Burial at Norway Hill Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorials to either St. Thomas Catholic Church or Wind Lake Fire and Rescue. Family wishes to thank all the Caregivers over the past few years that helped Mildred at home and the staff of Synergy of East Troy and Hospice Advantage of Union Grove for their care of our Mom and Grandmother Mildred.
