On June 4, 1936 Peter was born to John and Julia (nee Krysiak) Pekar on their farm in the Town of Lake, aka Cudahy, where he lived and worked his entire life.
In 1956 he married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Miller, and they remained devoted to each other for 58 years.
Pete worked at Tomaro Contractors for over 20 years. He especially took pride in working as a foreman in the deep tunnel projects throughout Milwaukee.
In 1979 Pete and Marilyn purchased a liquor store in St. Francis. Together they built a successful business known as Pekar Liquor. It is still in operation 46 years later, run by their son Jeff.
Pete was an active member of the community, even serving as Mayor of Cudahy from 1988-1990. He also was a member of the Lions Club.
While enjoying time with family, Pete often shared fond memories of his days as a young boy on the farm. He also recalled many happy visits to his cottage in Pickerel, Wisconsin and home in Central Florida.
Pete lived a long, full life and will be missed by all who knew him. In honoring his wishes, there will not be a funeral service. The family appreciates your understanding during this time.
