Phil M. Nannemann

December 25, 1942 — November 30, 2023

Philip M Nannemann (1942–2023)

Philip M Nannemann, 80, of Waterford, WI died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Waterford in 1942 to Roman and Catherine Nannemann.

Phil attended Rochester Ag School, transferring to Waterford Union High School where he began dating his “Paddy Ann”. Phil graduated from Waterford Union High School. Phil “Flip” lettered in Football, Basketball and Baseball. In today’s terms, Phil was a “baller”.
In 1964, Phil took Patricia Ann Mehring as his bride. They started their family and remained in Waterford their entire life. They would have been married 60 years in April.

Phil started his own Masonry business in 1977.
Some of Phil’s greatest memories were coaching his children’s sports and attending their sporting events. Sundays were made for celebrating a big St. Thomas win with family style chicken dinner at Big John’s with a few “Martoonies”.

Phil was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Everyone who knew Phil, knew his love of the outdoors, bowling and golf. He loved to get away to their second home in Viroqua to enjoy hunting and nature, with a little stop at the Casino on the way.

Phil is survived by his wife Paddy Ann.
Children: Jim (Sandy) Nannemann, Mary Berg, Patrick (Tammy) Nannemann, Beth (Chuck) Raduenz.
Grandchildren: Joshua, Ashley, Payton, Ari, Cody, Jessica, Ethan, Noah, Olivia. And one of the biggest joys of Papa’s life his 6 Great Grandchildren and his kitty who rarely left his side.
Siblings: Eileen Girens, Carol Tenhagen, Larry Nannemann and Rosie Nannemann.
Phil’s family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the following during Phil’s journey these past years.
Burlington Aurora Hospice nurses and aides- there were many but they all made Phil feel so special. Close family friend Liz Helm for her love and devotion to Phil and the family, Sharon Mehring for her healing hands, Kiki Bracket for kindly giving Phil haircuts in the comfort of his home. Thank you to all that sent cards or came to visit Phil at home these past few years, it meant more to him than you will ever know.

Special thanks to Fr. Gene Doda and Deacon Jim Nickel for their spiritual guidance and blessings during this difficult time.
If you would like to make a donation in memory of Phil Nannemann: Donations to the Special Olympics Wisconsin and St. Thomas Aquinas would be appreciated by the family.
From your children and Grandchildren “Make the Birdie fly from Heaven for us”, we will miss you forever and do our best to make you so proud! His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

In the words of our loving Dad and Papa……. “Don’t Worry, be Happy”.
