Scott M. Stanger

Scott M. Stanger, age 66, a longtime resident of Waterford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Scott was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 14, 1960, the son of the late Richard and Shirley (McKillop) Stanger. When his family moved to Waterford, he attended Waterford Union High School, graduating with the Class of 1978.

Scott was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Faith Community. He dedicated 47 years of service to Lynch Truck Center, where his hard work and leadership earned him the position of Service Center Manager.

Scott loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed snowmobiling. Above all else, his family and friends were his greatest source of pride and joy. He was known as a true tinkerer who could fix just about anything and was always ready for “Tailgate Time” at the end of the day—a tradition that brought laughter, conversation, and lasting memories with those he loved.

Scott is lovingly survived by his children, Amy (Dylan) Rausch and Kate Stanger (Sean Sullivan); his cherished grandchildren, Waylon, Madelynn, Johanna, Max, Cecelia, Viviana, and one more grandchild on the way. He is further survived by his brothers, Rick (Leslie) Stanger and Mark Stanger; his brother-in-law, Rob Gauger; his former wife, Evelyn Stanger; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, his lifelong best friend Chuck (Cindy) Brintnall and many other dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Shari Gauger and his Uncle Buck McKillop.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Faith Community (305 S. 1st Street, Waterford, WI 53185) from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.

A continued celebration of Scott's life will be held at the Cotton Exchange (345 Hickory Hollow Rd, Waterford, WI 53185) on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 1 to 4p.m.
