Vonnie G. McDermott

Vonnie McDermott, age 93, of Waterford, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Vonnie was born on July 22, 1933, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, to the late Albert and Viola Eisner. On December 30, 1952, she was united in marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Nils McDermott. The couple resided in New London, Wisconsin, where they both graduated from New London High School.

In 1961, Vonnie and Nils moved to Waterford when Nils accepted a teaching position there. Waterford remained their home for the rest of their lives. Following retirement in 1993, Vonnie and Nils enjoyed spending their winters in McAllen, Texas, as “snowbirds,” where they loved the warm weather and spent many happy days playing their favorite activity, golf.

Vonnie and Nils were lifelong members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Vonnie is survived by her son, Derek (Sue), and their children, Kelly (Eric), Sean (Katy), and Ryan (Kari); her daughter, Thea (Dan), and her son, Kyle (Jess); and eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Mason, Connor, Parker, Alaina, Aidan, Maddie, and Ben.

A special thank you to the staff at Waterford Senior Living, hospice nurses Stacey and Taylor, and Pastor Joshua Conradt for their loving care, compassion, and support for Vonnie and her family.

Vonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nils; her parents, Albert and Viola Eisner; and her sister, Nadine.

A graveside service will be held 10AM Friday, October 2, 2026 at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH CEMTERY WATERFORD, WI.
